A MAN has been shot in the face at a Mount Gravatt housing commission home that neighbours say was well known to police.
A man and a woman emerged from the Norton St home with their hands in the air around 2.30pm, according to a neighbour who asked not to be named.
Police ordered the pair to lie on the ground, the neighbour said.
She later emerged to find two police in her front yard, who remained there for about an hour "with their guns pulled".
"They told me, don't come out here, there's been an incident," she said.
"I went inside and watched Judge Judy."

A police spokesman said a woman, 44, and a man, 24, from Wishart, were assisting with inquiries.
The shooting victim, 31, was rushed to Princess Alexandra but was not critically injured, according to ambulance crews.
Doreen O'Brien, who lives on Perkins St behind the house involved in the shooting, told The Courier-Mail that SERT officers stormed into her property and took over her backyard for about an hour.
"We had up to eight of the SWAT team in our yard," she said.
"They had bulletproof vests, guns on their legs and hips - they were well and truly geared up.

"Apparently a chap shot another one in the mouth and then he barricaded himself in the home."
Another neighbour, two houses away from the shooting, said: "I've been looking after my one-year-old grandson today."
Emergency services were called to the Norton Street residence about 2.10pm.
Police said the victim was standing outside the house when he was shot once in the face following a suspected dispute.
Police have the shooter in custody and have cordoned off the scene while the investigation continues.
Meanwhile, police have been called to another shooting at Winchester Terrace, Pimpama on the Gold Coast.
